Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe – Brother’s Keeper

Karl Denson is one of the most innovative and thrilling musicians of his generation. Able to cross cultural and generational boundaries with his unique mix of soul, rock, funk, blues and jazz, Denson manages to reinvent himself time and time again. It is no wonder why the celebrated saxman and vocalist has been first call for such musicians as Warren Haynes, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The Allman Brothers, and James Brown alum Fred Wesley. On September 15, 2009 Denson released " Brother's Keeper on Shanachie Entertainment. Joining the musical chameleon was an all-star cast including Meshell Ndegeocello, Marc Ford (Black Crowes), and musicians from Lenny Kravitz's Band, The Dap Kings, The Greyboy Allstars, and Switchfoot. Denson says of his latest work, "I'm not one to live in the past. I am very much a forward thinker. Brother's Keeper is a continuation of my general world view, which is that we should be loving each other, having fun and taking care of one another."

The co-founder of the pioneering west coast soul jazz outfit The Greyboy Allstars and the popular powerhouse groove ensemble Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Denson will be playing a FREE FTBW show on June 26 right after the day’s Wildflower Rush races wrap up.

Directions: Park in Crested Butte at the Visitor's Center (601 Elk Ave. Crested Butte, CO 81224) and take the free Mountain Express Bus to Mt. Crested Butte. Exit at the first stop and go through Mountaineer Square to the base of the Red Lady Lift.
